Job Overview:
As a Solar Site Surveyor, you will play a key role in evaluating potential sites for solar energy systems, ensuring each location is suitable for installation, and collecting accurate data required for the design and installation process. You will work closely with sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure successful and efficient installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Evaluation: Conduct on-site assessments to determine the suitability of locations for solar energy systems, including roof and land evaluations.
- Data Collection: Measure roof sizes, angles, and orientation; assess shading; and record necessary site information (e.g., electrical infrastructure, available space).
- Client Interaction: Meet with clients to discuss system requirements, provide site-specific recommendations, and gather information regarding energy consumption patterns.
- Shading Analysis: Taking photos of any potential shading reasons (Trees, Chimneys, other houses)
- Design Collaboration: Work with the design and engineering teams to communicate findings and ensure system designs are tailored to specific site conditions.
- Site Documentation: Take photos and document all relevant data, including measurements, obstructions, and other site-specific factors.
- Safety and Risk Assessment: Identify any potential safety hazards at the site and ensure that the survey is conducted in accordance with safety protocols.
- Report Generation: Prepare and submit detailed site survey reports for internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Comfort with heights (for roof assessments) and ability to navigate uneven terrain.
- Comfort with attics as we will need a quick measurement of rafter spacing and pictures to see if our crew members have space to work during solar install.
Work Environment:
- Field-based role with travel to client sites.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 40 per week
