Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Service Technician to join our team at Spaulding Group, a leading provider of multifamily apartment homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of maintenance professionals. As the Lead Service Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our apartment communities are maintained to the highest standards and provide an exceptional living experience for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion of all maintenance requests.
- Train new hires and develop ongoing training programs for the maintenance team.
- Collaborate with management to evaluate team performance and address any issues.
Maintenance & Repair:
- Conduct routine inspections of the apartment community to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Oversee and perform repairs and maintenance tasks in areas such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance servicing, and general carpentry.
- Respond to resident service requests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring high levels of resident satisfaction.
Project Management:
- Manage work orders, prioritize urgent repairs, and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
- Coordinate and oversee preventive maintenance programs and special projects as needed.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure that all maintenance operations comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring that all items are in safe working order.
Resident Relations:
- Communicate effectively with residents to understand their maintenance concerns and provide clear explanations of repairs and services.
- Foster a friendly and approachable presence within the community, promoting a positive living environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in multifamily or residential maintenance, with [X] years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance techniques, systems, and repairs in multifamily housing.
- Certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or other relevant trades is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to exceptional customer service.
- Proficient in using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
