What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities and Maintenance Manager position at SPCA Florida?

To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage various tasks on a daily basis to ensure our operations run smoothly. Ultimately, you will ensure our buildings are safe, clean, and inviting for all potential adopters, clients, and the staff.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Inspects and maintains structure of buildings, initiates, and follows through on repairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and first-class environment throughout all outdoor campus areas of the property.
- Supervises and participates in renovations, additions, office changes.
- Oversees ground keeping, maintaining upkeep and safety regulations, including pressure washing buildings, sidewalks, and awnings.
- Maintains vendor relationships.
- Establishes facility plan including equipment obsolescence planning, budgeting, and replacement.
- Contacts and schedules vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies that are outside the scope of routine maintenance.
- Supervise outside contractors on major mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or other repairs for commercial property.
- Maintains a schedule of completed maintenance and future service dates.
- Maintains and keeps records of the upkeep and maintenance of the fleet of vans/ vehicles.
- Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure personal safety for self and others both in buildings and on the grounds.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; 2-4-year degree preferred; 5-7 years of relevant facilities’ experience in similar type of environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience that is determined to be directly related to the specific requirements may be substituted.
Typical work hours are from 7:30am to 4:00pm and after hours as required for time sensitive projects and/or emergency response.
