Medical Fitness Associate
General Summary:
The Medical Fitness Associate is responsible for providing information and instruction to members in regards to the operation of fitness equipment, exercises classes, and safety of exercise form.
Essential Job Functions*:

Monitors and ensures that the equipment is used properly by patrons and in the event of an emergency the appropriate measures are adhered to.

Possesses an understanding of the physiological basis of activity and is able to instruct exercise according to American College of Sports Medicine guidelines.

Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintain a high standard of customer service

Conducts group exercise classes, observing participants during exercise for adverse signs.

Responds to member inquiries, signs up new members, and give tours of the facility.

Supervises the weight training and cardiovascular equipment areas.

Provides instruction for individuals on exercise equipment and exercise regimen.

Contributes to general cleaning duties and disinfecting of equipment for health and safety reasons

Ensures locker rooms and gym space is safe and free from obstacles.

Ensure linen is appropriately stocked in locker rooms

Ensure cleaning equipment is located in the gym and available for member use to disinfect equipment and machines after use

Adheres to opening and closing procedures.

Answers phones and assists with scheduling of member services.

Coordinates outside resources to complete equipment repairs

Completes and maintains reports for the Rehabilitation Director as necessary.

Complies with relevant laws and regulations as they relate to the position.

Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Complies with hospital and departmental policies, procedures, regulations and standards as related to job.

Qualifications:
Education
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in exercise related field.
Work Experience
Preferred: At least two years’ experience in exercise related field
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations
Required: BLS certified
