We are currently looking for a Financial Data Analyst for a hybrid, full-time position with our eCommerce 3PL client in the Los Angeles area. The Analyst will play a critical role in driving data-driven financial decision-making within the organization. Experience using SQL, Python and Excel to conduct data analysis and reporting required.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and manage large datasets from databases.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to enhance budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Design and implement dashboards/reports to support financial analysis and business performance.
- Partner with IT to ensure data integrity, optimize database performance, and support system enhancements.
- Identify process inefficiencies within financial workflows and implement automation solutions.
- Conduct gap analyses to identify business needs and translate them into functional and technical requirements.
- Support month-end and year-end financial close activities with data-driven insights and reporting.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed, including cost analysis and profitability studies.
Job Knowledge & Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, or related roles.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and database management.
- Experience with financial systems (SAP, QB, or similar) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Solid understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to bridge technical/non-technical teams.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex modeling.
- Background in finance-related automation projects or business intelligence initiatives preferred.
