Lead Construction Estimator

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all costs are accounted for and that projects remain within budget. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent project management skills, and the ability to negotiate contracts effectively.

Duties

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
• Analyze blueprints and other documentation to develop project estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate project scope and requirements.
• Utilize construction estimating software such as Bluebeam to create and manage estimates.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information necessary for accurate estimating.
• Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
• Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to facilitate future project bidding.
• Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid packages and reviewing bids from subcontractors.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating or related field, with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
• Proficiency in using construction estimating software, particularly Bluebeam.
• Strong knowledge of cost control methods and techniques in the construction industry.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts effectively.
• Strong negotiation skills with experience in contract negotiations preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
