Position: School Psychologist
FLSA: Exempt
Location: Special Education Dept. /Central Office
Terms of employment: 11 months, 209 days
Reports To: Director of Special Education
Start date: 07/7/2025
Primary Function: To provide school psychological services including, but not limited to consultations with teachers and others regarding test interpretation and student expectations, serving as a resource to groups such as the Student Support Team, conducting individual student evaluations, serving as a member of the special education team.
Requirements:
- Educational Level: Masters Degree in School Psychology
- Certification/Licensing: May enter with S5 certification in School Psychology, but must earn S6 within 3 years [FLD711] (P-12)
- Proficiency Skills: Written and oral communication skills, student assessment, and leadership skills, ability to deal with multiple tasks, computer competence, organizational and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Special Education Due Process procedures and legal requirements, test data interpretation and analysis.
- Personal Skills: Pleasant personality, cooperative attitude, physical skills, and stamina to perform essential duties.

School Psychologist Essential Duties:
14. Checks for essential preliminary referral information on students to be evaluated.
15. Conducts individualized comprehensive psychological evaluations, when required.
16. Prepares written evaluation reports that follow state guidelines in a timely manner.
17. Verbally communicates assessment results and/or recommendations to appropriate personnel.
18. Assists with data collection for local, state, and federal funding.
19. Keeps accurate records and documents.
20. Actively participates in meeting to review assessment data and reach a decision regarding the appropriate action to be taken.
21. Consults and collaborates with school staff, parents, and others.
22. Serves as a team member or consultant to those implementing intervention strategies.
23. Advises system-wide test coordinators and/or others in matters related to student assessment.
24. Stays current with professional literature evaluation instruments and assessment techniques and applies what is learned when applicable.
25. Assist director with the purchase of evaluation instruments and related assessment software.
26. Conducts training for RTI Team personnel, special education teachers, and others as requested.
27. Helps to establish department goals.
28. Reviews new special education files for compliance with state and federal regulations.
29. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
