About the Special Education Foundation:

The Special Education Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to assist students with disabilities in St. Louis County in achieving success in ways not supported by tax dollars.

The Foundation aims to empower students with disabilities by giving them the tools and opportunities to succeed in and beyond the classroom,

We do this in partnership with the Special School District of St. Louis County.

About the Position:

The Special Education Foundation seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to provide part-time administrative support on a contract basis. This position offers a flexible schedule of 5-10 hours per week and is ideal for someone looking to contribute to a meaningful cause.

Responsibilities:

This role encompasses a variety of administrative tasks, primarily focused on development assistance and bookkeeping. Responsibilities include:

Development Assistance:

  • Maintain accurate records of donations and activities in the SEF Donor Management System (Bloomerang).
  • Compose, format, and proofread professional correspondence (letters, emails, etc.) to current, lapsed, and potential donors and sponsors, including donation acknowledgment emails and letters.
  • Assist in organizing fundraising appeals to donors for campaigns and events.

Bookkeeping:

  • Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks, including making deposits, data entry and daily transactions, invoice processing, reconciling deposits, and expense tracking using QuickBooks.
  • Prepare and print checks for payments to vendors.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all financial information.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • General knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Experience with Donor Management software is a plus.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to the mission of the Special Education Foundation.
