Job Title : Cost Accountant

Position Summary : Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Cost Accountant plays a critical role responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost, margin and Inventory analysis. You will collaborate with cross -functional teams optimizing the financial aspects of our manufacturing operations.

Essential Functions :

Creation and maintenance of product standard costing across the plants.
Analyze and report gross margin across products groups.
Analyze and report manufacturing costs actual to standards in plants.
Partner with new product teams to cost and analyze new business opportunities.
Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions.
Participation in month and year end closings.
Back up other key members of the accounting and finance team in AP, AR and General Ledger.
Create and reconcile monthly Inventory Perpetual ledger to General Ledger reporting.
Work proactively with Operations staff at multiple sites to drive Inventory optimization.
Co-Lead bi-annual physical inventory.

Position Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Applications.

Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.

Effective verbal and written communication skills demonstrated the ability to work both independently and as a team.

Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to be flexible and respond to changing business demands.

Strong knowledge of cost accounting and general accounting procedures.

General ledger accounting experience including month and year-end closing.

Preferred Qualifications :

Manufacturing or construction accounting experience.

Physical Requirements :

Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate office equipment, and reach with hands and arms.

Frequently required to talk and hear.

Frequently required to sit for long periods of time.

Required to occasionally stand and walk.

Occasionally required to lift, push, pull and / or move up to 10-pounds.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment :

Safety glasses are always required on the production floor.

Hearing protection is required in designated areas.

Occasionally subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electric current and exposure to heat and chemicals.

Occasionally subject to conditions including one or more of the following that affect the respiratory system or the skin : fumes, odors, dust, mists, or poor ventilation.

Occasionally exposed to cold, hot, wet and / or humid shop conditions.
