Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect machinery and parts to ensure that they remain compliant with specifications to reduce any malfunctions and associated loss of production.
- Ensure grinding wheels are dressed according to specifications so that the machines remain at peak working capability.
- Provide quality control by inspecting parts and removing any defective pieces.
- Operate machinery, including polishing and grinding equipment, to grind any metal parts to their prescribed specifications to ensure high-quality products.
- Finish products by hand using hand tools to ensure the surfaces are filed or finished accordingly.
- Keep all equipment running by inspecting and performing basic maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning, and scheduling repairs when needed.
- Raise quality issues to the next level if quality is compromised
- Ability to understand print notes, apply notes and dimensions to the forming of a part.
- Following instructions for scanning jobs in and out correctly, logging and identifying parts prior to leaving the area.
- Responsible for checking the end product to ensure it meets customer specifications and SPM quality standards.
- Ensure to follow all SPM safety procedures associated with operating machinery, plant requirements and other safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 yrs of Grind experience
- Ability to read blueprints
- Demonstrated competency in basic math
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift, carry, and/or push up to 50lbs
