PURPOSE
The coordinator of psychological services for the special services department oversees the evaluation process to ensure compliance and best practices. This position also serves to oversee the delivery of mental health services by coordinating outreach services and social work services, and by closely collaborating with district and community partners.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Supervision of School Psychologists and Psychological Examiners – performance evaluations, recruitment/hiring, annual position assignments, professional development, collaboration, budgeting, case reviews.
- Supervision of Educational Diagnosticians – performance evaluations, recruitment/hiring, annual position assignments, professional development, collaboration, budgeting.
- Supervision of Social Workers for Special Services – performance evaluations, recruitment/hiring, professional development, collaboration.
- Coordination of Outreach Counselors – professional development, collaboration, crisis response coordination, practicum coordination, recruitment/hiring.
- Mental Health Consultation and Collaboration – assist with creation/revision of policy/procedures, partner with community agencies, collaboration with school counseling directors, development of MOUs, oversee MU psychiatry fellows.
- Coordination of Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs).
- Participate in departmental leadership meetings and professional growth activities.
- Incorporate the vision and goals of the special services department into practice.
- Follow all policies and procedures of the school district.
Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Columbia Public School District.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: Specialist or doctoral degree in school psychology or related field; Missouri certificate for K-12 school psychologist.
Preferred: Evidence of successful leadership skills; supervisory experience; extensive knowledge and experience with evaluations and mental health service delivery in the public school system.

Physical: Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, lifting up to 10 pounds on a regular basis, and considerable dexterity in operating office equipment; Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Sensory: This position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing and speaking.
