Job Summary: Specialists in Dermatology is seeking a part-time Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with Mohs Surgery and Histology procedures, primarily focusing on the grossing of tissue. This position requires flexibility in hours and the ability to fill in when needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure proper accessioning and labeling of all tissue samples
- Performs grossing and tissue processing under no direct supervision
- Performs routine histotechniques such as embedding tissue, microtomy, H&E staining, and manually coverslipping
- Maintains complete and accurate records
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work area

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: (one of the following)
- Associates Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology
- At least 60 semester hours, or equivalent, from an accredited institution that , at a minimum include: 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses; or 24 semester hours of science courses that include six semesters hours of chemistry; six semester hours of biology; and twelve semester hours of: chemistry, biology, or medial laboratory technology in any combination.
- Preferred:
- ASCP professional certification or equivalent Nationally-recognized Histology Technologist certification or categorical certification in histopathology
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience (new college graduates welcomed) in the past 5 years
