GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Medical Receptionist must have exceptional customer service skills, an outgoing personality, positive attitude and able to work in a busy medical practice. Team player with the ability to greet and speak with patients.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Greets and directs all patients visiting practice
Obtains patient demographics and verifies insurance information
Collect patients' CoPay/deductible/balances at each visit
Schedules patients' return visit
Answers Multi-line phone system
MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assures readiness of reception area for each working day
Prepares computer/printer systems for the day Greet and manage medical vendors
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
High School diploma required
Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred
Experience:
1-2 years Healthcare Reception Experience
1-2 years Electronic Patient Management System Experience
1-2 years office equipment and multi-line phone systems Experience
Proven Ability to manage and input appointments into a multi-provider schedule system Other:
Dependability to open/close office
Attention to Detail
Time Management and Prioritizing with ability to Multi-task
KEY COMPETENCIES
Patient and physician communication skills
Electronic Patient Management Systems
Knowledge of Health plan coverages/copays
