JOB SUMMARY
The Plant Manager will be responsible for the production, maintenance, supply, safety and quality assurance functions of two Houston facilities; one manufacturing and one distribution. These facilities manufacture, assemble and distribute a standard and consistent volume of a range of metal fabricated items (from Cut to Machine to Weld to Powder Coat to Assemble to Pack to Ship.) This professional multitasker will coordinate the plant’s processes to ensure compliance with company objectives, efficiency expectations, quality systems, and customer expectations. The applicant must be hands-on, exceptionally detail-oriented and able to lead a team, serving as liaison between plant workers and upper management. This person must be dedicated to achieving operational excellence, have a genuine interest in helping the company succeed and a practical ‘get it done’ attitude.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Create and implement strategic improvements for production, quality, logistics, supply chain and labor utilization throughout the facilities.
- Provide leadership to ensure effective utilization of plant personnel and equipment.
- Collaborate with functional departments in the implementation of improvements.
- Investigate and implement innovative processes to reduce costs, improve product quality and resolve supply chain issues.
- Plan and coordinate operations for production, machinery, processing, and packaging departments.
- Ensure that production schedules are in accordance with facility capabilities, customer requirements, and financial planning.
- Manage materials replenishment, quality standards, and performance metrics in support of organizational goals and objectives.
- Help drive the overall Supply Chain agenda in line with organizational needs, including Best-Cost Global Sourcing.
- Develop strategies to increase productivity and production.
- Oversee all shipments, incoming inventory, and storage operations.
- Optimize productive time for employees by eliminating unnecessary processes.
- Practice conflict resolution among departments and employees.
- Report and track expenses to reduce costs.
- Analyze production metrics and data to determine areas to improve.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure all legal requirements, company safety procedures, and local and state health and safety regulations are met.
- Handles stress in a professional manner, demonstrates the ability to get along with others, demonstrates successful attendance and punctuality, and works overtime / extra hours as required to meet business needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Ten or more years of experience in plant operations and supply chain.
- Strong leadership qualities, gives clear direction, thinks proactively, and has a high degree of accountability.
- Leads by example with a willingness to display a hands-on approach.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
- Strong management skills with the ability to supervise and lead multiple teams.
- Strict adherence to company standards and safety procedures.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in management of a full cycle metal fabrication plant.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business, engineering, or related field.
- Experience in supply chain management.
- Experience with best-cost global sourcing and outsourcing.
