DESCRIPTION:
The Revenue Cycle Supervisor oversees daily operations related to billing, collections, charge entry, and accounts receivable follow-up. This position plays a key role in ensuring financial performance by analyzing, reporting, and presenting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to leadership. The ideal candidate brings a data-driven mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and in-depth knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle processes, and ability to travel within Ohio 1-2 days per week.
SUMMARY:
- Supervise the daily workflow of revenue cycle staff, including billing specialists, payment posters, and A/R follow-up team members.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs such as days in A/R, denial rates, collections percentage, clean claim rate, and aging bucket performance.
- Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPI reports to leadership, offering insights and actionable recommendations.
- Identify trends, root causes, and process gaps affecting revenue cycle performance; develop and implement improvement strategies.
- Collaborate with internal departments including front office, coding, clinical, and IT to ensure data integrity and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, HIPAA, and internal policies.
- Train and mentor team members to meet productivity and quality standards.
- Support audits, special projects, and system upgrades as assigned.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to work independently and complete assigned projects with minimum supervision. Good organizational skills and ability to determine when there may be an issue or problem in the revenue cycle process. Requires the ability to collect, compile, prepare, and present data
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years in a medical billing position required. Minimum of two years of college preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience in health care or medical business office setting, with previous experience as supervisor or team leader.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Expected to monitor staff workflow and fill-in when needed.
- Carries out authoritative responsibilities in accordance with the organizations polices and applicable laws.
- Supervises AR team and works with other departments to ensure billing efficiency
- Performs special projects as needed.
- Performs strategic analysis of staff work and practice specific reports.
- Conducts and attends in-service education programs, participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
- Participates in bi-weekly meetings with Operations Manager, Practice Support Supervisor, and/or Executive Director to give update on team activity.
- Reports AR trends appropriately
- Monitors assigned groups to ensure that goals are being met.
- If needed should help Operations Manager research payer policy updates.
- If needed should convey any coding updates accordingly.
