Immediate opportunity for a Human Resources Director in Durham, NC. This role is an interim role, but candidates may be considered for the long-term role.
The Human Resources Director will provide overall strategic Human Resources (HR) leadership, manage and direct all HR tasks with a high degree of organization, accuracy, technical competence, confidentiality, and integrity. The ideal candidate will act as an employee champion and a leader of change. You will plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's human resource function and performance.
Responsibilities
- Functions as a strategic, human capital business advisor to the senior management team
- Develops initiatives, policies and programs to complement existing practices and create consistency across the organization
- Assists in the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs and services, including, but not limited to, recruitment, selection, retention, legal compliance, employee benefits, compensation, employee relations, payroll, performance management, employment practices and procedures and employee communications.
- Advises senior management to ensure compliance with all federal state and local laws related to employee benefits, compensation, employment, and training. Remains current with changes in human resources and employment law.
- Works collaboratively with HR Team, leadership, and financial executives to identify requirements, select vendor and oversee system implementation for an HRIS that meets organization’s HR information system needs.
- Evaluate and oversee all employee benefit programs including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, retirement plans, leave programs, unemployment compensation, contacts with third party administrators, employee benefit audits, workers’ compensation insurance and COBRA, etc.
- Directs compliance for EEO, 5500 and other reporting requirements. Works with executive team in support of compliance reporting.
- Directs and oversees personnel record keeping related to new hires, employee reviews, promotions, transfers, separations and exit interviews. Ensures procedures are documented and followed to completion.
- Directs and oversees compensation of employees to ensure pay and benefits are appropriate to attract, recruit, and retain quality talent.
- Provides counsel to senior management and partners in the resolution of complex HR, employee relations including promotions and terminations, and other organizational development matters.
