Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a Professional Geologist (PG) for a full-time opening with an engineering firm in the Raleigh, NC area.
We are seeking a Geologist with experience in Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, UST Closures, and soil and groundwater remediation. This position involves project management, fieldwork, data analysis, and technical reporting, as you work closely with a team of environmental scientists and specialists.
This position offers a salary of $85,000 - $105,000, depending upon qualifications. Additional benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, matching 401(k), and three weeks of Paid Time Off.
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and manage Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, GeoEnvironmental Assessments, UST Site Checks, Initial Abatement Actions, UST Closures, and soil and groundwater remediation.
- Perform data analysis and technical report preparation on findings.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental laws.
- Conduct fieldwork including site evaluations and soil and water sampling.
- Prepare cost estimates, project schedules, and client proposals.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license.
- 5 years of relevant environmental engineering or geology experience.
- Proficiency in field equipment and software used for data analysis and reporting (e.g., GIS, AutoCAD, PID, sampling equipment and devices, etc.).
- Willingness to conduct field investigations including out-of-town travel as necessary.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to prepare reports, project documentation, and conduct client communications.
- Ability to traverse rough terrain, work in adverse weather, and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations, including UST and Sampling Guidelines.
- Experience with soil and groundwater sampling and remediation.
