SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed geological surveys and assessments for disaster-affected areas, identifying risks and providing recommendations for mitigation and recovery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop recovery and resilience strategies based on geological findings.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation to support disaster recovery projects and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to manage documentation and maintain transparency.
- Provide expert input for determination memorandums and appeals related to geological issues.
- Stay current with state licensure, certification, and professional registration requirements where applicable.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior geologists and team members.
Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience in a related field and professional registration or
- Bachelor's Degree with 15 years of experience in a related field.
- Must meet state licensure, certification, or professional registration requirements where applicable.

- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
- IS-1004: The FEMA Site Inspection Process
- IS-1018: Determination Memorandums and Appeals
- 7116: Program Delivery Manager
- 7117: Site Inspection
- Proficiency in GIS and geological analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of geologic principles, disaster response planning, and regulatory standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Work onsite in North Carolina.
- EOD Required.
