Job Summary
The Production Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating the production of specialized electro-optical products. This role requires strong communication skills to interface with various teams, including sales, engineering, and operations, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of customer orders. The Production Planner will manage the production process, from material planning to final product delivery, while navigating the unique challenges of custom-built systems.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Coordination :
- Develop and manage production plans for specialized products, ensuring accurate maintenance of bills of materials (BOM), routing details, and product configurations.
- Review and analyze open sales orders to verify customer requirements and align production schedules accordingly.
- Utilize ERP systems to create and manage manufacturing work orders with precision and accuracy.
- Ensure timely release of manufacturing work orders by confirming the availability of all required materials.
- Coordinate the timely delivery of parts to optimize material flow and support on-time production.
- Monitor and expedite manufacturing activities to ensure production schedules and deadlines are consistently met.
- Facilitate product transitions to new manufacturing processes or equipment to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Track and maintain product configurations during development and pilot builds to ensure a seamless transition to full-scale production.
- Generate and manage new part numbers, ensuring all associated documentation is accurately archived and maintained.
