Job Description and duties This position is primarily working in our lab (which is a solo job, not interacting with patients) but we would like to train this person to help in the clinical bay in the afternoons so they need to be an on the ball, high energy, friendly person who is always looking for more to do. When they are acting as floater they won’t have a ton of direction and need to be able to keep themselves busy by finding jobs needing done.
Duties include but not limited to :
- Melts metals or mixes plaster, porcelain, or acrylic pastes, and pours materials into molds.
- Creates a model of patient’s mouth by pouring plaster into a dental impression and allowing plaster to set.
- Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments properly : must remove all organic and inorganic materials from dental instruments before sterilization process.
- Responsible for notifying the Lead Dental Assistant of materials that are running low and need replacement or re-stocking.
- Assist in daily and monthly maintenance of all equipment.
- Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedules and office policies.
- Must excel in forward thinking in order to anticipate the needs of the patient and our dental team.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned by management.
