You will be providing care by ensuring everyone’s health and safety while empowering them to get the most out of their day.
Spectrum offers people within the I/DD population several different settings to enrich their daily lives and improve their adaptive learning skills. Our day-program is a safe space for participants to work on individualized skills, grow, and interact with their peers. To foster further engagement, community outings provide an environment to practice safety skills, inclusion, and much more.
Job Functions
Daily Responsibilities:
Provide organized and structured day to day operations of the Day Program.
Serve as primary contact for Day Program services on a 24/7 basis. This includes actively communicating with staff, host home providers, families, and other team members.
Arrange transportation on a weekly basis and communicate with staff and host homes/families.
Perform opening and closing procedures of the Day Program.
Creates daily schedules, monthly newsletter and calendar.
Develop lesson plans using appropriate modifications and accommodations for individuals with a wide range of disabilities and behavioral needs.
Serve as the team lead to ensure implementation of these lesson plans, overall structure, daily activities, and success of client goals.
Conduct hands on care and protocol training for direct care providers.
Communicate medical needs with Spectrum RN; ensuring adequate delegation is completed for client’s health and safety.
Maintain client files and accurate documentation for designated caseload including service plans, daily tracking, protocols, etc.
Assist in the implementation of client’s Service Plans and goals with their assigned Spectrum Program Manager.
Attend client annual Service Plan meeting, IDTs and enrollment.
Maintain a professional relationship with families and Spectrum partners.
Manage Logisitics for Spectrum Van Drivers.
Manage a team of staff, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure program success.
Manage Provider Schedules and ensure compliance with Spectrum Policies and Employment Laws.
Incident report review, process and follow-up; communicating incidences directly to client, guardian, and Community Centered Board.
Ensure compliance with program regulations, policies, and procedures. Oversee day to day operations.
Identify and address program gaps, making recommendations for improvement.
Provide administrative support to program staff, including record-keeping and reporting.
Participate in program development and planning, ensuring programs are aligned with organizational goals.
Managing Program Expenses
Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Special Education, Social Work, or related field; or high school diploma and minimum of 4 years’ experience.
Requirements
Strong organizational and classroom management skills required
Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Possess high energy, positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for caring for others.
Must have a clear knowledge of behavioral support plans, de-escalation, and crisis intervention by utilizing positive reinforcement.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to pass a Criminal and Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS) background check.
Possess a valid Driver’s License and is willing to undergo a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
Physical Requirements
Able to provide all elements of hands-on care per client’s individual needs (assist with feeding, transferring, providing full support in the restroom).
Bend, sit, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Work on your feet throughout the day, up to 8 hours
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at the computer.
Transfer clients in and out of vans, wheelchairs, and assist with a two-person transfer in the restroom.
