Who we’re looking for
- Client’s Final Assembly Production Engineering (FAE) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated FAE Engineer.
- The primary responsibility of this role is to support the development and implementation of new model preparation at NAMC ( North America sites.
- Reporting to the FAE Manager, the person in this role will support the FAE objective to make Vehicle Manufacturing equipment best-in-industry for human safety, highest quality, and most efficient utilization of automation technology for non-value-added work reduction.
What you’ll be doing
- (50%) Project Planning with Plant teams and Final Assembly team for upcoming model change.
- (30%) Evaluating Model change impact to vehicle processes and developing technical equipment change requirements.
- (10%) Development of new technologies and vendor base for PE (Production Engineering) and Manufacturing industry competitiveness improvement within Assembly.
- (10%) Leading equipment projects from concept to launch for Equipment and Automation technology to Assembly across the NAMCs.
- Close collaboration and relationship building with internal and external groups across client including TMNA Final Assembly Engineering Project Leaders, NAMC’s Pilot team, Logistics, Maintenance, Engineering regional teams, PEPD, and others.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering or technical degree or equivalent work experience
- List degree or equivalent (3 years) work experience
- Experience in Assembly Engineering or Internal Logistics Engineering.
- 1 year or more, please list experience
- Ability to travel up to 20% to all North American Manufacturing Centers (NAMCs) as well as Japan for TMC sites and equipment makers. (yes/no)
- Ability to work up to 30% overtime when required (yes/no)
Preferred
- Training and experience creating and interpreting equipment drawings from concepts to production
- Vehicle model change experience
- 3 years or more, please list experience
- Experience in route planning and/or material information flowchart creation (MIFC). Yes/no, please list experience

What is the typical hands-on day to day responsibilities for this resource?
- (30%) Project Planning [schedule, budget, layout, and with NAMC PC Logistics and NAMC Assembly team for upcoming model change.
- (30%) Mentoring Equipment team members through Model Change process for Assembly and Logistics areas and standard Equipment OP.
- (30%) Leading equipment projects from concept to launch for Assembly across the NAMCs.
- (10%) Development of vendor base and internal/external performance metrics for PE (Production Engineering) and industry competitiveness improvement within Assembly.
