Senior Planner

Job Description: Planner/Scheduler (Primavera P6 Expert)

Duration: 12 Months

Location: Houston, TX

Position Overview:

The Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining project schedules for major projects with multiyear durations and extreme levels of complexity. The ideal candidate is an expert user of Primavera P6 and possesses specialized expertise in project planning and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a realistic project plan and schedule to meet project objectives.
• Ensure adherence to standard procedures and systems for project planning and scheduling.
• Integrate Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), coding, and resources into project schedules.
• Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) and ensure accurate Schedule Performance Index (SPI) and Earned Value curves.
• Ensure contractor plans and schedules comply with project standards and contract requirements.
• Coordinate and update schedules with actual progress, forecast remaining durations, project milestones, and completion dates.
• Apply practical field experience to identify schedule challenges and suggest mitigation plans, including recovery schedules.
• Conduct "what-if" schedule analysis to assess the impact of different scenarios or specific events.
• Proactively report schedule status, communicate risks, and provide mitigation plans to the Project Manager (PM), Construction Manager (CM), and Project Control Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Post-secondary education in Engineering or Construction; P.Eng or equivalent preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• 10 years of work experience, including 5 years in solar projects.
• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Power BI, Ecosys, and Microsoft Office products.
