We are seeking a Tableau Production and Implementation Engineer to manage the deployment, performance, and maintenance of Tableau dashboards in production. This role involves ensuring data refreshes are timely, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing dashboard performance using various tools and technologies.
Location: East Windsor, New Jersey (Hybrid)
Experience: 2 - 4 Years
Key Responsibilities:
- Tableau Dashboard Deployment: Deployment of Tableau dashboards from development to production. Manage version control and ensure smooth, minimal-downtime deployments.
- Monitor & Maintain Dashboards: Ensure Tableau dashboards are functioning correctly in production, using tools like TabMon and Tableau Server Admin Views.
- Troubleshoot Issues: Analyze Tableau Server logs (e.g., vizql, tabmon) using JIRA or similar tools.
- Data Refresh Management: Oversee data refresh schedules with Tableau Data Extracts (Hyper) and automate using SQL.
- Root Cause Analysis & Bug Fixing: Conduct root cause analysis, validate fixes, and optimize dashboard performance using Tableau Performance Recording.
- Automation & Deployment: Automate deployment using Tableau REST API, Tabcmd or similar tools
- Collaboration & Support: Work with business users and technical teams to address issues, ensuring smooth operations.
- Documentation: Maintain records of issues, resolutions, and performance reports.
Required Skills:
- Experience with Tableau dashboards implementation & deployment, data refreshes, and log analysis.
- Proficiency in SQL
- Familiarity with Tableau REST API, Tabcmd, and/or Git/GitHub.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Tableau Server/Online, CI/CD tools, and log analysis tools (e.g., JIRA, Splunk, Grafana).
- Scripting experience with Shell or Bash.
