Job Description
We are seeking an experienced data curator to assist with data extraction from laboratory instruments or electronic lab notebooks, as well as data transformation and loading into the data warehouse. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of pharmaceutical research and the biologic discovery process, along with proven experience in data analysis or data curation projects. Additionally, it is crucial for the contractor to collaborate closely with laboratory scientists, as well as data science and IT teams, to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and usability of data throughout its lifecycle.
Responsibilities
1. Data extraction from instruments or electronic lab notebooks:
o Develop and implement automated processes for capturing data from various sources, including laboratory instruments, lab information management system (LIMS) or electronic notebooks (ELNs).
o Ensure that data capture align with the overall discovery R&D data architecture requirements.
o Troubleshoot instrument/LIMS/ELN communication issues and optimize data capture process.
2. Data transformation and loading:
o Mine and analyze historical R&D discovery data for quality, relevance, and completeness before loading to the database.
o Maintain comprehensive documentation related to data extraction, transformation, protocols, including training materials.
3. Collaboration and Communication:
o Work closely with cross-functional teams including IT, data engineering and architecture and business units to align data strategies.
o Work closely with stakeholders, including biologists, model developers and IT business technology product owners to deliver data-related requests.
o Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding data capture issues.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 0-2 years’ experience in biochemistry and structural biology lab, experience with antibody discovery, mass spec, or structure and bioanalytical data handling is preferred.
- Programming skills in Python for data transformation and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively and simultaneously.
- Candidates must be available to work in United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status now and future.
