What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Health and Safety Technician position at Spectro Alloys LLC?
If you're the type of person who likes to roll up your sleeves and make sure everyone is working safe and sound, we want you on our team! Spectro Alloys is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Technician to keep things running smoothly and safely at our Rosemount, MN facility.
It’s all about keeping our team safe, keeping things compliant, and making sure we all go home in one piece at the end of the day.
Let’s get to work!
What’s In It For You?
- Work-Life Balance: No guesswork here. You’ll have consistent hours to plan your life around.
- Career Growth: Learn the ropes, get trained up, and grow your safety career in a company that invests in you.
- Competitive Pay: Starting at $30/hr (with more if you bring the experience!) – we pay you what you’re worth
What Will You Be Doing? As our EHS Technician, you’ll be the go-to person making sure we’re all working safely, following the rules, and keeping the environment in mind. You won’t just be in the office making up safety rules — you’ll be right there on the floor, working with the crew, making sure the safety gear is on, the machines are up to code, and everyone is following the best practices. You’ll make a real impact on our day-to-day safety culture. Here's How:
- Safety Audits & Risk Assessments: You’ll be checking out the plant to make sure everything is running safe and sound.
- PPE & Machine Guarding: Help keep our team protected by ensuring everyone has the right gear and machines are properly guarded.
- Handling Hazardous Materials: Make sure we’re compliant with handling and storing hazardous materials safely (and know the paperwork to prove it!).
- Training the Crew: You’ll be teaching the team the ropes on how to stay safe, how to handle emergencies, and how to deal with any hazards.
- Incident Investigations: If something goes wrong, you’ll investigate the cause, figure out what happened, and help prevent it from happening again.
- Safety Improvements: Always be on the lookout for ways to make safety better and easier for the team.
Who We’re Looking For:
- A down-to-earth team player who can talk to anyone (and we mean anyone!) and make safety something people actually care about.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field (we love the education, but we also love experience!)
- 1-3 years of experience in safety (preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings, but we’ll consider all backgrounds)
- You know OSHA, EPA, and local safety rules like the back of your hand (or at least have a good understanding of them).
- You’ve been involved in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- You’re organized, have great communication skills, and can solve problems on the fly.
- You can work independently but also love being part of the team.
Bonus Points If You’ve Got:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field
- Experience in a heavy industrial setting like manufacturing, construction, or recycling
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills (we love a bilingual safety pro!)
Perks & Benefits You’ll Love: We want you to be happy and healthy, so we take care of you and your family. Here’s how:
- Paid Time Off (including your birthday — because that’s important!)
- Paid Holidays — we believe in work-life balance!
- 401(k) with company match to help you save for the future
- Uniforms and annual clothing allowance — let’s keep you comfortable and looking good!
- Comprehensive health benefits — we’ve got you covered with medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
- Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions to save for future medical expenses
