What Will You Be Doing?

As the Rolling Equipment (Fleet) Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and overall operational efficiency of our fleet of rolling equipment. You’ll lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring production goals are met while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and leading a team of Rolling Equipment Maintenance Technicians
  • Coordinating daily production schedules based on equipment availability and labor resources
  • Conducting regular team meetings to provide updates on best practices and expectations
  • Ensuring the efficient execution of maintenance tasks, minimizing downtime, and improving overall equipment performance
  • Developing and implementing a preventative maintenance program
  • Maintaining detailed records on vehicle service history, repairs, and maintenance
  • Coordinating with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), suppliers, and vendors for parts and services
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall maintenance processes
  • Monitoring safety compliance and ensuring that all maintenance work adheres to safety guidelines
  • Reporting any visible safety hazards, equipment maintenance needs, or failures
  • Training and developing the maintenance team to ensure continuous improvement and high-performance standards
  • Ensuring proper use of safety equipment and following all lock-out/tag-out procedures

Who We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious leader with the following qualifications:

  • Education: 2-year Maintenance/Mechanics Degree or equivalent experience; a degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience in fleet maintenance management or a similar role with strong knowledge of mechanical aspects of rolling equipment and vehicles.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and people skills
  • Ability to motivate and hold teams accountable for safety and quality standards
  • Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis/reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, determine root causes, and develop solutions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Additional Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with safety programs and process development
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a heavy industrial environment
  • Experience with CMMS systems

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to work in an industrial environment with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy machinery
  • Comfortable working with rolling equipment and handling mechanical maintenance tasks
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when needed

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

Required:

  • 2-year Maintenance/Mechanics Degree or equivalent experience in a maintenance or mechanical role.
  • Proven experience in fleet maintenance management or similar role, with a strong understanding of mechanical equipment and rolling systems.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, especially in managing teams of technicians or mechanics.

Skills & Abilities:

Required:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, specifically related to rolling equipment and vehicles.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, manage, and develop a maintenance team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis, reporting, and scheduling.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues, determine root causes, and implement solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and updates to teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with safety programs and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Familiarity with cost control principles and managing budgets for maintenance activities.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement initiatives and experience implementing them in a team environment.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to work in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, heat, and heavy machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion and be comfortable working with large equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to spend extended periods walking or standing on the plant floor.

Certifications & Training (Preferred but not required):

  • Certifications in maintenance management or safety (such as OSHA or PMP) are a plus.
  • Forklift certification or other relevant industrial equipment operation certifications.
  • First Aid/CPR training.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a background check, physical exam, and drug screen (safety first!).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make decisions based on established practices and procedures.
  • Ability to follow established protocols, including safety measures and operational guidelines.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement maintenance programs that improve efficiency and minimize downtime.
