About the Role
As a Special Education Instructor, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and implementing instructional processes for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Your primary focus will be on creating a collaborative environment that promotes academic achievement and personal growth for students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and implement instructional processes for students with IEPs
- Create a collaborative learning environment that promotes social development and group responsibility
- Implement established school-wide and classroom Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) programs
- Record student progress, maintain student files, and prepare reports on students and activities
- Provide direct subject-based instruction and/or co-teach curricular subjects as required in IEPs
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field
- All state teaching certification and/or licensing requirements
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an education specialist or special education teaching credential (Mild/Mod or Mod/Severe)
- Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation, and instruction in a classroom setting
