What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Specialist position at Spectrum Generations?
The Data Specialist will ensure the comprehensive planning, organizing, execution, and administration of agency databases. This includes configuration, maintenance, compliance, and security in accordance with agency policies, procedures, and governing regulations such as HIPAA and HITECH. The Data Specialist monitors, analyzes, and oversees Spectrum Generations’ data and data systems to support operations under the Older Americans Act and Healthy Living for ME Community Care Hub. By providing critical reporting and analysis, the Data Specialist upholds the mission by ensuring the function, utilization, precision, and completeness of the data systems
- Identifies new technology to better support the implementation, efficiency, and operations
- Builds new and maintains existing systems as required by new contracts and partnerships through tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, etc.
- Ability to use critical thinking skills to identify potential concerns and to resolve or elevate to the appropriate level of management
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal & written)
- Ability to work within small and large teams across network contractors
- Punctual and dependable, able to report to work as scheduled
- Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality
- Able to work independently, demonstrating good judgment
- Must be accurate and detail oriented
- Presents self professionally and positively represents the agency in language, demeanor, and appearance
Education / Training / Experience: Knowledge Required by the Position
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required; equivalent experience may replace education
- 2-4 years of data management, coordination, or statistical work
