**Job Description**
The Counselor will work closely with program participants to facilitate social behavioral change, cognitive restructuring, and substance abuse treatment programming. This will involve conducting comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans, facilitating psycho-educational and process groups, and providing individual counseling according to timeframes established per program.
**Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs and goals of each participant.
- Conduct regular assessment and evaluation of participant progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
- Facilitate group sessions, including psycho-educational and process groups, to promote social learning and skill development.
- Provide individual counseling sessions to participants, addressing issues related to substance abuse, mental health, and personal growth.
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's Degree in the Human Services field is required.
- State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is required within two (2) years of signing job description.
- Experience working in Therapeutic Community model programs is a plus.
- Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus.
