Middle School Head Baseball Coach
Spectrum High School – Elk River, MN
Spectrum High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Head Baseball Coach to lead our middle school baseball program for the upcoming season. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic about working with middle school athletes and contributing to their athletic and personal development in a positive, competitive environment.
Position Overview:
The Middle School Head Baseball Coach will oversee all aspects of the middle school baseball program, including organizing practices, developing training plans, and providing guidance during games. The coach will work closely with Assistant Coaches and student-athletes to help them grow their skills in various baseball disciplines while creating a supportive and team-oriented atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement practice plans and training sessions for middle school baseball athletes.
- Work with student-athletes in key areas of baseball (hitting, pitching, fielding, base running, etc.).
- Lead warm-ups, drills, and conditioning sessions.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented environment that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Assist with coaching during games and manage logistics for practices and competitions.
- Provide constructive feedback and evaluations to help athletes improve their skills and performance.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Coaches and other staff members to ensure program success and growth.
- Track and monitor athletes’ progress in both their athletic and academic development.
- Communicate with athletes, parents, and school staff as needed to ensure program success.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience in baseball (preferred but not required).
- Background or expertise in specific aspects of baseball (hitting, pitching, fielding, etc.).
- A passion for mentoring and developing student-athletes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire middle school athletes.
- Must maintain certification with the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL).
Position Details:
- Start Date: April 2025
- Season Length: April 2025 – Early June 2025
- Compensation: Stipend-based salary (to be discussed based on experience)
- Practice Schedule: Three practices per week, with additional time required for games and events.
