We are currently seeking to DIRECT HIRE a Weld Cell Operator for our 1st Shift at our Kentwood location, located at 5265 Kellogg Woods Drive.
Who are You?
You have a passion for working with your hands and troubleshooting mechanical problems. You are seeking a 4-Day Work Week on first shift working 5:00am - 3:30pm, Monday thru Thursday with some overtime on Fri. The starting pay for this position is $18.00.
You'll collaborate with an upbeat, hard-working, and diverse team to keep our Weld Cells running smoothly and to continuously improve our processes to ensure quality products are shipped on time to our customers on time. You will receive valuable experience and work on exciting projects that enhance your skills and career growth.
What will You be Doing?
The job description includes, but is not limited to:
- Operate robotic and welding equipment.
- Check completed parts to ensure compliance with required standards and quality processes.
- Assure ISO/TS 14969 procedures are followed; assist in CAR's and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Operate/observe robots to detect malfunctions or nonconformance.
- Optimize laser/robotic welding parameters.
- Assist Weld Technician with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Use a measuring tapes and variable gauges.
· What Requirements do You Need?
- Follow all environmental and health safety rules/regulation
- Have good judgment/problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of basic shop math
- Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties daily
- Work both independently and as part of a team
- Minimum 2 years' experience in similar role preferably in a manufacturing setting.
What would be Nice to Have?
- The ideal candidate can rework MIG Weld
- The ideal candidate can read blueprints/drawings and possess interpretation skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
