Machine Operator
Shift: 2nd shift, 2pm-Midnight M-Th, OT on Fridays 2pm-7pm as needed
Pay: $18-20/hour
Location: Saranac, MI
Currently hiring for an experienced machinist who will join our 2nd shift team as we continue to grow in an effort to meet substantial demand.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate various machines to produce office furniture components ranging from a number of case goods to large conference tables by utilizing a CNC panel saw, edge bander or CNC router.
- Produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications to maximize daily productivity expectations of boards being shipped.
- Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; perform basic and routine adjustments and maintenance. Communicate machine or quality issues.
- Consistently check products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts 2ndshift leadership.
- Move and transfer product within the facility.
- In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
- Inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; contact 2ndshift leadership if supplies are needed.
- Regular and predictable attendance as well as adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
- Store materials properly in warehouse.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to work in all assigned areas of production; perform relief duties when required.
- Ability to follow directions and work cohesively in a team environment.
- Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and how to use/read a tape measure as well as basic product drawings.
- Must be able to read and understand production paperwork and labels.
- Ability to quickly learn production equipment.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Ability to drive a forklift is a plus.
- Ability to adhere to our attendance policy; regular and acceptable punctuality and attendance is required.
- Detail oriented to ensure components is meet quality expectations
- Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
- Notify leadership of any mechanical or material issues.
- Must be able to lift 50-75lbs repeatedly throughout a 10-hour shift.
- All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production.
