Compensation: $35 to $42 an hour (DOE)
Job Summary:
Spectrum Medical is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to serve as a manager for our nursing team. In this role, you will provide leadership, oversight, and support to the clinical team, ensuring patient care is delivered efficiently and aligns with Spectrum Medical Care Center’s mission, vision, and values. What You’ll Do:
Staff Development and Management
- Assist and support all human resources functions for nursing and ancillary services, including hiring, disciplinary actions, and termination; maintain appropriate documentation and ensure compliance with all SMCC policies and requirements.
- Oversee the performance and daily operations of MAs, ensuring staffing levels meet patient care and regulatory needs during critical clinic hours.
- Conduct monthly to quarterly performance check-ins with MAs, along with annual formal evaluations, providing constructive feedback and actionable improvement plans.
- Develop a streamlined onboarding and basic training process for new MAs, delegating advanced or ongoing training to senior MAs or designated leads.
- Foster a collaborative, supportive environment, working closely with MAs to ensure a positive patient care atmosphere.
Staff Education and Evaluation
- Facilitate compliance-focused training and ensure all MAs meet mandatory state and federal education requirements (e.g., ADHS).
- Provide informal coaching to MAs regularly to address immediate issues and promote professional development.
- Evaluate patient schedules and assign MA duties accordingly, prioritizing clinic efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Clinical Operations and Patient Care
- Act as a resource for MAs during clinic hours, providing clinical support and assisting with patient care as needed.
- Collaborate with providers and the Medical Director to address patient care concerns, ensuring smooth clinic operations.
- Partner with the Medical Director on quality assurance issues and in collecting data for staff meetings, research, reports, and evaluations.
- Conduct biweekly reviews of MA workflow and provide feedback to maintain operational efficiency.
- Delegate non-essential operational tasks (e.g., equipment testing, procedural evaluations) to senior staff or team members.
Budget and Resource Management
- Provide input on MA staffing and supply needs during budget planning.
- Promote cost-conscious practices within the team, ensuring efficient use of resources without compromising care quality.
Quality Management and Compliance
- Conduct biweekly or monthly quality improvement reviews focused on MA processes, such as patient flow and documentation accuracy.
- Ensure MAs adhere to clinical compliance standards and assist in audits related to their roles.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director on initiatives to improve MA performance and patient outcomes.
Work Environment and Safety
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive work environment for the MA team.
- Serve as a mentor and primary resource for MAs, addressing workplace concerns and facilitating conflict resolution as needed.
- Participate in meaningful interactions with the MA team to address immediate challenges and improve team cohesion.
Patient Liaison and Medication Management
- Act as a liaison between the patient and the providers.
- Supervise all injectable specialty medications.
- Collaborate with providers to offer education on injections and procedures, answer questions, and arrange future follow-up visits, including injectable specialty medications.
- Triage patient phone calls to facilitate appropriate levels of care.
- Maintain medication records and administer medication per provider orders.
- Manage specialty injection supplies and maintain inventory.
- Enter all vaccine, injection, and specialty injection inventory into eCW and audit the system for an accurate reflection of remaining inventory.
- Use proper injection techniques and educate support staff as instructed by providers.
- Participate in the medical office emergency routine when required. Summon Emergency Medical Services (EMS) or assist other staff members as needed.
- Order and monitor medications for efficacy or possible side effects.
- Order laboratory and other tests related to the specialty of the practice.
- Complete prior authorizations started by specialty pharmacies.
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries or concerns by following office protocols.
- Assist in offering clinical support for medical procedures.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; master’s degree preferred.
- Current and unrestricted RN license in the state of Arizona.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
