About this role :
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, results-oriented Senior Accountant to perform both complex and routine financial accounting activities associated with Spectrum Safety Solutions’ corporate operations. This position will drive process improvements and provide support to management for effective business decisions, while ensuring the proper accounting is applied to corporate transactions and appropriate internal controls are in place. The candidate must possess strong analytical skills and an ability to change direction to handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis. This position will report to our Corporate Controller and will be based at our international headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.
Primary responsibilities :
- Perform and support monthly, quarterly and annual close related activities in a timely manner for Spectrum’s corporate HQ operations
- Prepare accurate journal entries, invoices, financial statements and account reconciliations
- Ensure bills and expenses are recorded and paid in a timely and accurate manner
- Analyze monthly results, and partner with Controller and CFO to ensure accurate reporting for each accounting period
- Maintain appropriate internal controls
- Work closely with business partners and support external audits
- Develop process efficiencies and make improvements to assigned accounting processes
- Participate in ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed
