An established and reputable global law firm is looking to hire a Billing Manager for their Washington, D.C. office. The Billing Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional service to attorneys and clients, ensuring high-quality work, and fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. Above all, the Manager must support the Firm’s needs in alignment with its vision and values.
This is a hybrid position, allowing flexibility to work one day per week remotely.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set priorities and oversee daily operations of the local Billing team.
- Ensure high-quality work and timely completion of assignments.
- Monitor department productivity and implement procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Lead hiring, coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions for local staff.
- Coordinate staff orientation, onboarding, and integration into the department.
- Mentor team members and support professional development.
- Ensure compliance with billing and collection policies, including overseeing write-down/off approvals.
- Manage Alternative Billing Arrangements and oversee the annual review process.
- Collaborate with Billing and Collection partners, financial personnel, and Client Services Lawyers to ensure timely billing and collections.
- Generate monthly and ad hoc reports to track billing and collection performance.
- Coordinate year-end billing and collection efforts.
- Contribute to department initiatives and process improvements.
