A mid-sized Government Contractor in the DC area is looking add a strong Payroll Specialist to their team! This opportunity is fully remote but would prefer someone local to the DC area. GovCon and Unanet experience highly preferred.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Unanet and ADP, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll accurately and on time using Unanet and ADP.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Calculate wages, bonuses, deductions, and benefits, including PTO and overtime.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on payroll-related matters.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and best practices.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of payroll experience, with expertise in Unanet and ADP.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience handling multi-state payroll (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other payroll-related software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
