Job Description
As a CDL Yard Driver for Spee-Dee Delivery, you would be responsible for the coordination of incoming trailers from branches and the movement of outgoing trailers as they are loaded.
Hours and Wages :
- Monday - Friday, 5 : 00PM start
- 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
- Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
- Starting wage : $23.00-27.00 per hour, based on experience
Duties and Responsibilities :
Transfers incoming trailers into loading docks and moves when emptiedSwitches outbound terminal trailers once they are loadedMakes local pick-ups in surrounding areaReplaces trailers when Transport CDL Drivers leaveCommunicates with CDL Mechanics on maintenance and repairsRemoves empty pallets from unloaded trailersCoordinates unloading and loading of LTL palletsCommunicates with warehouse management to synchronize switchesWashes exterior of tractor and equipment dailyAssists with other duties, as necessaryExperience and Qualifications :
Must possess a valid CDL Class-A driver's license and have a good driving recordMust be 21 years of ageAbility to drive a manual transmissionMust possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles / triples endorsementMust possess good customer service and organizational skillsMust be able to work independently and make quick decisionsAbility to pass a DOT physical and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50lbs repetitively. Some overhead lifting is requiredAbility to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to : hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animalsFull range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etcWork environment requires time spent outdoors in changing weather elements as well as in a vehicle and other hazards pertaining to road conditions, vehicle operation and package contentBenefits :
