Duties/Responsibilities:
Clinical Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech and language disorders
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based approaches.
Provide engaging, effective, and age-appropriate therapy sessions tailored to each child's needs.
Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
Educate and train families on strategies for carryover at home to support therapy goals.
Collaborate with parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals to provide coordinated care.
Administrative Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and HIPAA-compliant documentation, including session notes, progress reports, and evaluation summaries.
Manage scheduling adjustments for clients as needed.
Stay current with continuing education and professional development to enhance clinical skills.
Practice & Community Engagement
Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for clients and their families.
Contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace by supporting colleagues and maintaining open communication.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong understanding of speech and language disorders in children.
Knowledge of evidence-based therapy techniques and intervention strategies.
Familiarity with or willingness to learn about gestalt language processing, articulation and phonological therapy, and early language development.
Understanding of child development and its impact on speech and language skills.
Awareness of assistive communication devices (AAC) and alternative communication methods.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for client confidentiality and documentation.
Ability to conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills to adjust therapy approaches as needed.
