Human Resources Generalist
Location: Spencer Ogden-Houston
Overview We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support our internal business partners by delivering comprehensive HR services. This role involves providing expert advice and direct support in key HR areas such as employee relations, policy interpretation, talent acquisition, performance management, and workforce data analysis. You will also assist with compensation and benefit programs.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability to handle diverse HR functions effectively across all levels of the organization. The HR Generalist will serve as a role model to our recruiting consultants, offering training and guidance where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
· Partner with leadership to guide employees and managers on topics such as policy interpretation, benefits, compensation, job descriptions, payroll, turnover, employee satisfaction, performance management, and legal compliance (e.g., FMLA, ADA, sexual harassment).
· Support workforce planning by tracking trends such as turnover and time-to-fill metrics, addressing staffing challenges, and collaborating with recruitment teams.
· Analyze workforce data and identify areas for improvement, preparing reports and action plans to improve HR metrics. Recommend strategies to improve turnover, retention, and employee engagement.
· Advise management on performance support/improvement strategies and action plans.
· Work with SO’s leadership and operational teams to develop strategies that align with business objectives, focusing on retention, employee satisfaction, and meeting organizational goals.
· Participate in sales meetings to better understand operational objectives and workgroup culture. Provide HR updates and adapt strategies based on operational changes.
· Assist in new employee orientation and training programs.
· Interpret HR policies and procedures for employees and management, and suggest improvements. Create and communicate new policies as needed.
· Provide support for employee relations, including conflict resolution, coaching managers and staff on various HR issues.
· Conduct investigations related to employee disputes, and unemployment claims. Provide recommendations to management and senior leadership, including drafting detailed reports.
· Contribute to compensation-related tasks, including job description development, compensation analysis, and providing guidance on related issues.
· Support change management efforts alongside the Global HR Team, developing and implementing effective strategies.
· Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional growth and engage in regular career discussions with management. Keep your development plan up to date.
· Collaborate with the Global HR Team on global initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
· At least 3 years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on employee/labor relations, organizational development, recruitment, compensation, or benefits administration.
Preferred Certifications:
· PHR (Professional in Human Resources)
· SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources)
· SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management - Certified Professional)
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
