Project Manager | Renewable Energy
Seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale solar projects in Mayes County, Oklahoma, including Salt Branch Solar, Huckleberry Solar, and Mayes Solar (totaling over 370 MW). This role involves managing all aspects of the project lifecycle, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and stakeholder coordination.

Location : Mayes County, Oklahoma (1 hour outside of Tulsa)
Projects :
- Salt Branch Solar (Phases 1 & 2) : 145 MW, located north of Route 20
- Huckleberry Solar : 124.7 MW, south of Pryor Creek and west of Route 69
- Mayes Solar : 101.5 MW, south of Pryor Creek and west of Route 69
Expenses : GSA Per Diem or reimbursement for car rental, mileage, and hotels
Schedule : No more than 50 hours per week, exempt role (partially remote)
Travel : 40% (5-8 days per month on-site)
Job Overview :
The Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale solar projects in Mayes County, Oklahoma. This role involves managing all aspects of the project lifecycle, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The Project Manager ensures projects are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Planning and Execution :
Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of solar energy projects, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met according to the project plan.Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.Oversee project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful project completion.Team Leadership :
Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel, including engineers, construction managers, subcontractors, and vendors.Provide leadership to ensure project teams work collaboratively to meet project goals.Budget and Cost Management :
Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure that the project stays within financial targets.Identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate financial risks throughout the project.Schedule Management :
Develop and maintain the project schedule, ensuring that tasks and activities are completed on time.Identify critical path items and proactively work to avoid delays.Contract and Vendor Management :
Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.Oversee procurement activities and ensure all contractual obligations are met.Negotiate contracts and resolve disputes with external parties.Permitting and Compliance :
Ensure all necessary permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals are obtained and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as environmental and safety standards.Risk Management :
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project impacts.Proactively address issues as they arise to keep the project on track.Quality Assurance :
Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.Work closely with the QA / QC team to monitor construction quality and ensure compliance with industry standards.Safety Management :
Promote a culture of safety on-site and ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.Monitor construction activities to ensure health and safety standards are upheld.Stakeholder Communication :
Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications.Maintain regular communication with senior management, project stakeholders, clients, and external partners, providing updates on project status, progress, and any issues.Reporting :
Prepare and present regular reports on project progress, financial status, risks, and performance metrics to senior leadership and stakeholders.Qualifications : Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Experience :
Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, preferably in renewable energy or construction.Proven track record managing large-scale renewable energy projects (solar, wind, or energy storage) from initiation to completion.Certifications :
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent preferred.OSHA certifications or equivalent safety qualifications are a plus.Technical Skills :
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent).Strong understanding of renewable energy systems and construction processes, including solar technology.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, ISO).Soft Skills :
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to lead cross-functional teams.Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.Working Conditions :
