Spero is a multi-faceted social service agency that offers more than 10 programs to individuals, children, and families across the region. Our mission here at Spero is to offer hope, help and healing by providing Christ-centered human services to meet the ever-changing needs of individuals, families and communities.
Our Foster Care Program provides homes in Southern Illinois for children ages birth to 21. Our program also provides ongoing training and support to foster parents, who are an integral part of each child’s treatment team. As a Foster Care Case Aide you will provide supportive services to program staff in order to ensure the program and services are efficient and effective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist program staff with administrative tasks
- Ensure all documentation and reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure the office is closed up properly at the end of the day.
Requirements: Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid Illinois driver’s license. Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field and 2 years of experience in social services preferred.
Skills: Must be organized, able to multi-task, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills, and detail oriented. Must be able to interact with, and relate to, diverse groups of people.
Miscellaneous: Must pass all pre-employment drug screens and background clearances. Must maintain the ability to transport clients per DCFS standards and be able to lift/carry items weighing 15-30 lbs. Must be willing to travel and work flexible hours to meet the needs of the program. Required to work in clients’ homes and community settings.
