Plant Assistant Controller Experience in a manufacturing facility is required.
Position Summary
The Plant Assistant Controller is an integral part of both the local plant and the corporate accounting team. The Plant Assistant Controller will have responsibility for up to four locations and will support the daily operations at the sites along with the site’s monthly financial reporting, analysis, planning and forecasting. Additionally, the Plant Assistant Controller will support plant decision making by providing local KPI’s, monitoring plant expenses, analyzing capital rationalization and be responsible for product costing and reviewing sales margins. This position will have the opportunity to interact with various teams at both the local plant and at the division office to present analysis and develop strategies for better performance.
Position Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Monthly preparation of site journal entries and closing of the plant inventory ledgers along with responding to questions on spending and period expenses.
- Production Reporting: Daily review of production orders and their activity and variances.
- Standard Costing: Maintain standard costs on all parts and finished goods in your assigned locations.
- Inventory: Work with site leaders and production managers to maintain accurate inventory on the books through audits and monitoring accuracy of transactions.
- Management Reporting: Maintain KPIs and support operations including cost analysis, inventory control, product unit cost, and variance analytics.
- Site Management: Report monthly cost center spend analysis to departmental supervisor and site manager.
- Balance Sheet Responsibility: Reconcile monthly inventory and fixed asset accounts.
- Capital Analysis: Prepare capital requests and complete ROI analysis for future asset purchases.
- Audits: Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Processes: Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Compliance: Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
Basic Qualifications
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field from accredited college or university
- Minimum five (5) years of accounting or business-related experience
- Experience in standard costing and manufacturing variance analysis
- Proven knowledge of financial statements, journal entries, and GAAP
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Documented history developing and maintaining positive working relationships in a multi-stakeholder culture
- Ability to deliver results while working in a team focused environment
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
- Must be able and willing to travel 10-20% to other site(s).
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum seven (7) years of accounting or business-related experience in manufacturing.
- Experience in Microsoft ERP – D365 or Dynamics
- Report writing using Microsoft Power BI
Salary : $110,000 - $125,000
