What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Manager position at Spherion?
Spherion Fargo seeks an experienced Plant Manager to oversee all activities within a production facility. This includes receiving, storage, conditioning, treatment application, packaging, re-bagging and warehousing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure employee safety training and compliance to safety programs
- Hire, train, and supervise temporary & seasonal employees
- Provide daily supervision of full-time employees working within the production location
- Assist with implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System within the production facility
- Coordinate delivery of bulk product
- Develop and communicate packaging schedules and customer packaging instructions to plant employees
- Maintain accurate completion of processing work orders
- Identify improvement opportunities to reduce equipment down-time, improve efficiency, improve employee safety and customer satisfaction
The ideal candidate will possess computer skills, excellent communications skills, employee team building skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and be well-organized.
A minimum of 4-7 years of experience in a leadership role is required, with a background in agriculture being beneficial. An associate's degree is mandatory, while a bachelor's degree in agriculture is preferred.
