Shipping and Receiving Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and organized Transportation Coordinator to join our team at Spherion. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods from assigned sites to customers, working closely with carriers, shippers, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with carriers to ensure coverage for all shipments.
• Monitor incoming orders and schedule delivery with customers via phone and email communication.
• Communicate with shippers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to execute transportation plans.
• Manage and coordinate transportation action plans and performance metrics.
• Identify potential exceptions to on-time shipments and create action plans to resolve complex issues.
• Proactively communicate resolution plans to impacted parties when shipping is disrupted.
• Utilize transportation management systems to provide optimal load solutions based on total cost-to-serve.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong administrative skills and accuracy.
• Ability to follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ability to learn and navigate within several computer systems/platforms.
• Strong collaborator and communicator; ability and desire to be a team contributor.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and follow-up.
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant business/office-related experience.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Excel (knowledge of using filters, sorting functions, V-lookups).
