Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership:
- Provide expert technical hydrogeology support, including conceptual model design, aquifer test analysis, groundwater modeling, and mine dewatering.
- Mentor and guide staff in a range of technical skills, ensuring knowledge transfer and the highest standards of practice.
- Lead technical reviews, planning, and report writing for internal and external clients.
- Manage multiple projects and clients, effectively prioritizing tasks and resources.
- Develop work plans, realistic budgets, and schedules, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Delegate tasks, provide feedback, and guide teams in achieving high-quality deliverables.
- Write clear, concise reports for diverse audiences, both technical and public.
- Drive business growth in hydrogeology, hydrology, water management, and mining-related fields, from pre-feasibility through post-closure.
- Present at conferences and engage with potential clients to establish LRE Water as a leader in the mine-water resources industry.
- Oversee and mentor junior staff, including Project Managers, Engineers, Technicians, and Scientists.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, emphasizing client service and operational efficiency.
- Encourage a people-first approach and entrepreneurial mindset, guiding teams in assessing risks and implementing process improvements.
- Lead internal training for PMs, sharing knowledge gained from successful coursework like PSMJ Bootcamp.
- Monitor project profitability, labor expenses, and budget forecasts.
- Ensure the project team works within established budgets, making adjustments as necessary.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, navigating challenging discussions with confidence and humility.
- Identify new business opportunities by understanding client needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Experience: 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in Project Management.
- Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), Professional Hydrologist (PH), or similar certifications preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, or related field.
- Technical Skills: Broad expertise in hydrogeology, aquifer testing, groundwater modeling, and mining water management.
- Software: Proficiency in scientific software, GIS, Microsoft Suite, Google Earth, ERP, CRM, and other industry-specific tools.
