DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interprets and analyzes daily MRP reorder report
- Places requests for quotes for existing and new parts with suppliers
- Places purchase orders with suppliers
- Expedites shortages and past due purchase orders
- Negotiates with suppliers to get best price for inventory and purchased parts
- Create and Manage jobs in Epicor software
- Reviewing all MRP suggestions daily to determine what jobs to create for specific parts.
- Work closely with production, purchasing, engineering, process engineering, sales and expeditors to determine best dates for job scheduling.
- Once jobs are created, routing paperwork out to the manufacturing floor. Determine which work center each job is allocated to and distribute the job paperwork accordingly.
- SPI has fabrication, paint, warehouse, assembly, packing, and shipping departments. This position will work closely with fabrication daily.
- Communicate to all managers within the manufacturing environment and help them resolve any problems they may have with the jobs that have been created.
- Providing job status to internal contacts by answering and responding to all emails and questions related to jobs. Examples include when is this shipping? Where is this job on the floor? Are we on track to ship on the date in the system?
- Job Entry is the base production program that you use to create job records. A job can manufacture one or more quantities for a specific part. You define these quantities by creating demand links within the job record
- Two years purchasing or procurement experience in manufacturing, technical, or industrial setting
- 1 - 2 years experience in scheduling or dating orders within manufacturing software system based on FIFO process
- Experience within any manufacturing type software. Epicor experience would be great, but not required
- A work history that reflects good attendance and performance
- Motivation and initiative to succeed
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy
- Acceptable and pleasant demeanor in a customer service aspect when talking with suppliers and internal customers.
