What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Support Technician position at SPI Lighting?

This position requires the person to balance the short-term urgency of production dates, as well as the Engineering discipline of long-term design effectiveness and improvements. The primary focus for this position is on day-to-day active, in-process orders. This position will be the primary support contact for operations focusing on quick response to troubleshooting issues. They will validate solutions on active orders to ensure safety and design intent is maintained and delays are kept to a minimum.
After order shipment this person will work closely with Engineering to identify a Root Cause and a corrective action for future orders. During the corrective action this person will be the main contributor to the design and drafting portion of the solution. This person will use the Engineering Change process to ensure accurate standard BOM’s, standard models, WIP orders, and manage inventory if needed. When not working on active orders, this member of the support team will take project direction from Operations Manager with the intent to improve designs, processes and other activities, all having a focus increased throughput efficiency.
An additional responsibility of this position is improving throughput throughout operations and engineering. Working closely with our VP of Operations and Manufacturing Managers, this person will work to improve current processes to effectively and efficiently create ways of working.
