ASSESSMENT ANALYST
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an Assessment Analyst. This role requires a combination of BS&A expertise and advanced Excel skills to manage, analyze, and visualize spatial and tabular data. The successful candidate will play a critical role in transforming complex datasets into actionable insights, supporting client assessment decision-making across various projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize and Support BS&A applications internally and for clients
- Create, review, and maintain maps, data, and reports
- Develop, plan, and implement financial models to understand county/municipal revenue and expenses to allocate assessments
- Execute standard assessment procedures across Spicer client types
- Edit and verify programs for accessing, maintaining, linking and populating databases
- Provides problem-solving support to users in BS&A
- Research and prototype new technologies for existing or planned solutions
- Work closely with Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers to obtain project information and ensure deliverables are accurate and complete
- Ensure all work has a stated budget prior to beginning work, identify budget problems and discuss with Project Manager
- Work with Project Manager to determine if scope of work or budget needs revision
- Review all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting to Project Manager for review
- Troubleshoot problems and head quality control for company wide assessing responsibilities
- Coordinate with the firm’s GIS design team
- Conduct spatial analysis to identify trends, patterns, and relationships within assessments, parcel data and land use.
- Integrate and manage data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency in both BS&A and Excel platforms
- Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets for data organization, analysis, and reporting purposes
- Perform advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, conditional formatting, and data visualization using charts and graphs
- Generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations that combine geospatial data and statistical insights

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Proficiency in BS&A software
- Experience in GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS is a plus
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data manipulation, and visualization tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
- Ability to work with large datasets and maintain data integrity
- Excellent communication skills for presenting findings and collaborating with team members
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Excel Macros or Python) for data automation is a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a high-energy, team-oriented, rapidly changing environment
- Michigan Certified Assessing Officer (or other Assessing Certification) is a plus
