About the Role

Spiegelworld is looking for an experienced Server Assistant / Busser to join the team at Diner Ross at the LINQ in Las Vegas. The Server Assistant / Busser is  responsible for ensuring that the dining room tables are cleared, cleaned and re-set for next course or next guests dining.  This role is crucial to the success of the restaurant and requires support in the back and front of house areas. The ideal candidate is charismatic, confident and comfortable talking to guests, as well as, organized and can prioritize between clearing, re-setting tables, and at the same time providing water service and refills to guests.  The Server Assistant / Busser is required to assist the Food Server, and ensure they have supplies to pave the way for a smooth and timely dining experience for our guests. The Server Assistant / Busser reports to the manager on duty. This is a full-time position that pays $14.401/hr. Schedule is Wednesday - Sunday afternoon/evening. 

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver prompt, efficient and courteous service of food and beverages to guests in accordance with established standards.
  • Clear all tables, resetting them for new seating, ensuring tables are set in accordance with venue standards and guests achieving a pleasurable dining experience.
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
  • Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
  • Assist Food Servers in serving the guests throughout their meal, observing the guests for any requests for service, clear all dishes from the table after guests are through eating, continually providing them with a clean, neat eating area.
  • Polishing of all service items, silverware, glassware and plates for the duration of the shift to ensure stations are stocked appropriately.
  • Maintains the appropriate appearance of the work station in accordance with county health and department service standards.
  • Assists in serving food in a timely manner.
  • Service of water, coffee, hot tea and other non-alcoholic beverages and fills as needed.
  • Resets tables and performs other related duties as requests by the management or server.
  • Moves tables throughout the dining room in order to be able to set up and accommodate the need of the reservations. Prepare sections and side stations, i.e., make sure tables are cleaned and set properly.
  • Perform as team member with venue Host, Supervisors, Food Servers and Kitchen employees in maintaining smooth and efficient operations.
  • Must demonstrate pride, attention to detail and have knowledge in all aspects of a restaurant (i.e. menu items, food prep, service standards, bar concept, etc.)
  • Maintain cleanliness of all side stations, responsible for stocking.
  • Adhere to established grooming and appearance standards, including maintaining a clean and well-maintained uniform.
  • Taking part in pre-service duties, applicable closing duties and side work
  • Operate as a member of a team: help others and request help as needed.
  • Assist in the training of new employees as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager

 All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Spiegelworld policies, practices, and procedures.

What You Bring

Required

  • At least two years experience as a Server Assistant / Busser in a bar, lounge, nightclub or full service restaurant.
  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Polished appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos.
  •  Effectively assist with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise and firmness.
  •  A highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality.
  • Successful background check clearance prior to hire
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled/needed.
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US
  • At least 18 years of age.

Preferred:

Previous experience working in an energetic, hospitality driven restaurant or nightlife venue.

  • Work is performed in a high volume professional foodservice/ theater environment.
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
  • Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours and ability to climb statues between levels in venue
  • Able to lift or carry up to 50lbs. And climb stairs as needed to move thru different levels of restaurant/venue
